SWARAM – Safe Water And Resource Access for Manakayam
The primary objective of SWARAM is to provide the village of Manakayam in Pathanamthitta with access to clean drinking water.The project secured international funding from the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Best Practices and Project Committee (HTBPPC). The aim of Project SWARAM is to bring safe and sustainable water access to the village of Manakayam in Kerala, India, by exploring an alternative water source, setting up a well-defined pumping system, and utilizing solar power as an energy source to ensure a consistent and reliable water supply, while mitigating the risks associated with wildlife intervention in the existing water supply system.
