IEEE College of Engineering Adoor SB SIGHT conducted the 1st site visit on 21st April at Edakkidom, Kerala, India. The journey started around 9:30 am and the entire team reached the location by 10:00 am.

The SIGHT group interacted with the locals and found out the problems faced by them. The locals were very cooperative and welcomed us with warm hands. The SIGHT group included Dr. John George [Advisor, IEEE PES SBC CEA, IEEE IAS/IES jt SBC CEA, Professor and HOD of Electrical and Electronics Department CEA, VSAC IEEE Kerala Section (Travancore Hub)] ,Mr. Shibu J [Professor and HOD of Computer Science Department CEA] , Mr. Kevin P [Mentor, IEEE SB CEA], Ms. Irene Alsa George [Chair, IEEE SB CEA] Mr. Flemin K Sony [Chair, IEEE RAS SBC CEA], Ms. Diya Anna Mathew [Chair, IEEE CEA SB SIGHT ], Mr. Jesvin Mathew Vincent [Vice-Chair, IEEE CEA SB SIGHT ], Mr. Sarath Sasi [Secretary, IEEE CEA SB SIGHT ], Mr. Anvarshah J S [Project Coordinator, IEEE CEA SB SIGHT ]. It was a new kind of learning experience. Being there, helped our team to take in the difficulties faced by the people in the village. The expedition came to conclusion around 3:00 pm and we returned to the college by 4:00 pm.

Our team visited two hamlets during the 2nd expedition. The hamlets were surrounded by dense forests on one side and a serene river on the other. The team interacted with the locals of both the hamlets and found out their issues. A discussion on whether an effective solution can be implemented to the locals happened there itself. After discussing the possible solutions, our team decided to help the locals. The expedition concluded around 3:00 and we returned to the college at 4:00 pm.
