Introduction
An introductory and awareness session- ‘Know Your Society’, about IEEE PES, was held by IEEE PES SBC CEAon16th April 2024. It was conducted in the form of a panel discussion session and it was mainly focused on the first year students. 

The speaker of the event was Mr. Govind S Warrier who is an Embedded Software Designer at Swapp Design Pvt Ltd, Design and Web Team Lead of IEEE Power and Energy Society R10 SCC and Student Activities Co-Coordinator, IEEE SPS KERALA CHAPTE

Brief Description
Mr. Cyril Sam Saju, Secretary of IEEE PES SBC CEA, initiated the program with greetings. He then invited Miss Swathy Suresh, Chair of IEEE PES SBC CEA, to deliver the welcome address. Following the welcome address, he introduced Mr. Govind S Warrier, an Embedded Software Designer at Swapp Design, web team lead IEEE POWER AND ENERGY SOCIETY R10 SCCand Student Activities Co-Coordinator at SPC kerala chapter. First of all, Mr. Govind S Warrier commenced the session by introducing himself to the participants. He provided an overview of IEEE and IEEE PES, detailing the benefits of PES membership and elaborating on its activities, and projects. Then He proceeded to elaborate on various topics including a concise history of IEEE PES, scholarships offered to students by IEEE PES, funding opportunities for projects through PES, the significance of the PES Technical Community, prospects in the energy sector, an institute-wide humanitarian program backed by PES, member recognition for notable technical, educational, and service contributions, online resources provided by PES, the diverse communities within IEEE PES, IEEE PES Day and it’s aim.
He then explained about his volunteering experiences and through that, he highlighted the qualities that a good volunteer should have. The event was successful in achieving its aim of imparting an overview of IEEE PES, its significance, and its benefits to the participants.
